X8500 PCB X-ray machine

The Seamark XCT8500 is an advanced microfocus X-ray inspection system designed for SMT manufacturing and PCB assembly, providing exceptional accuracy for both 2D X-ray inspection and 3D Computed Tomography (CT) analysis.

The X-ray tube and detector move along the Z-axis to provide variable magnification, while the detector offers 360° rotation and ±65° tilt. The precision inspection table is driven by high-accuracy ball-screw mechanisms, ensuring exceptional positioning accuracy throughout every inspection cycle.

The XCT8500 performs both conventional 2D X-ray inspection and advanced 3D CT analysis, including Planar CT (laminography) and Cone Beam CT, allowing highly detailed three-dimensional reconstruction of electronic components, solder joints, and internal PCB structures.

CT reconstruction is managed through a dedicated high-performance workstation running Volume Graphics Studio, one of the industry’s leading software platforms for industrial X-ray and CT analysis.

Flexible X-ray Tube Configurations

The XCT8500 is available with three different X-ray tube options:

  • Canon 110 kV sealed X-ray tube
  • Comet 130 kV sealed X-ray tube
  • Comet 160 kV open X-ray tube

This flexibility allows the system to be optimized for a wide variety of inspection applications and material densities.
